At purchase the vehicle was in pristine condition and I doubt whether it had been driven in the rain! It has be meticulously maintained since.
Feb 2016, Hydra-gas spheres were removed & regassed with N2 as a preventative measure to ensure their ongoing performance and then the hydra-gas fluid was replaced, since then the ride height has maintained steady.
Additionally all upper ball joints & wheel bearings were replaced and adjustable rear camber bushes with Nolathane bushes were installed to enable correct rear camber adjustment (another common issue with the MGF), drive shaft CV joints were cleaned and repacked.
I also fitted a low water level alarm to ensure monitoring the coolant level, which is critical for an MGF. At this time the rubber coolant pipes around the engine were replaced for peace of mind, a new thermostat & coolant cap fitted.
The head gasket was preemptively replaced in Nov 2018 @ 117,000 km along with the head being worked with 3-angle treatment of the valve seats and porting to impart a sparkling performance.
The cam belt, tensioner, water pump has been replaced at regular service intervals (5yrs) along with flushing of the cooling system. Last serviced as above August 2024 with fresh Prestone coolant and alternator belt also replaced. Oil filter & oil have been changed at required service intervals. Gearbox oil refreshed June 2023.
The addition of Hella H3 driving /daylight running lights on correct circuit & switches alongside the replacement of the headlight units (a common failure on the F) & glass lenses covered with protective stone damage coatings ensures excellent lighting performance.
The rear heated screen relay & switch gear are installed to plug in a heated hardtop or soft top glass screen.
The interior leather and wood trim is all original & meticulously maintained, piping on the drivers seat is slightly worn, original floor mats are walnut bound and unblemished.
A new windscreen with tinted band has recently being installed as have original wiper blades. The sun visors are complete and as original. The instrument bezel is unmarked.
The stereo is the original Rover radio & cassette unit with the matching 5 Disc CD stacker in the boot, upgraded speakers have been installed.
The tan hood has one small mark but is completely waterproof, and an optional Abingdon wind-stopper is installed. The hood has tensioners added to assist folding. A walnut tonneau cover completes the weather equipment.
This car has always been garaged and the Goodwood Green paint is in tidy & presentable condition given the patina as would be expected after 25 years service.
During 2024 new front brake pads were fitted and the clutch slave cylinder has been replaced.
The car has been the recipient of numerous MG Car Club concours & participation awards over my tenure including 1st place at the 2016 MG Nationals.
